  xaar 21:04 27 Nov 2005

I have a problem in that my DVD player, wont recognise any original cd's. If i put in a copied cd it will read and play it OK.

The player is a teac dw-244e dvd player in a toshiba satellite 1130

Any help would be much appreciated

Run regedit and navigate to registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}. Highlight it and in the right pane, find the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values. Highlight each one in turn, right click and delete them. Close regedit and restart the computer. If in doubt make a restore point before making changes.

Deleted those values, and restarted. Still cannot read original cd's. any further suggestions would be appreciated
