Cannot open Microsoft Office Outlook

  mike40 10:59 19 Mar 2010

Yesterday when I tried to open Outlook 2007 I got the message. Cannot start Microsoft Office Cannot open Outlook Window. I have tried a system restore and also run a repair from the original disk but still I get the same message. any ideas would be appreciated. All other applications in Office open OK.

Many thanks

I have just been having a look at that and downloaded the file which is supposed to fix the issue. It didn't work so I have sent a request to Microsoft to see if they can offer any further assistance. Many thanks

Have you tried the M$ Office Diagnostics app ?

Should be in the Microsoft Office folder

Then rename your .pst file and restart without one (it will create a new one)

I ran that yesterday and it found nothing wrong. Can you please tell me how to rename the .pst file and where do l find it.

i had this on 2003 and the only thing I ended up doing was uninstalling then reinstall.

I must admit I am starting to think down those lines.

try this...
start run: outlook.exe /resetnavpane

It could be caused by a corrupt pst file. Try scanpst click here

Which OS?

Brilliant. I was just about to uninstall it but gave MAY ALAN's suggestion a try and ran resetnavpane. Now Outlook opens with no problem. I have just installed a backup copy of my pst file and everything has returned to normal apart from losing a couple of emails.

Many thanks once again to all, you folks have never failed me yet
