Hi there
Just installed new hard disk drive recently. But now when I insert CD or DVD into CD or DVD drive I get a message saying "Cannot locate CD-ROM" (or DVD ROM) It happens each time. Hope I haven't damaged something internally when putting new hard disk drive in. Some advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Delete both drives via device manager and let windows reinstall on bootup.

Chances are you have dislodged a cable on the motherboard.

What drives you have connected and which IDE cable are they connected to? What jumper settings you have used for each drive, cable select or master/slave.
