Cannot input text in IE Browser

  Snakey 20:50 22 Dec 2003

Tried to update Windows 98 through Windows Update but failed on istallation. Since then I am unable to input text into any search pages although I can click links to surf the net. Similar thing with OE in that I can receive mail but am unable to reply because I cannot enter text.
I have been unable to Scan for Update since(again nothing happens when I click the Link) and have tried reloading IE6 from cover CD. No luck.

I have the same problem and am using Windows 2000 pro with ie6 The above doesn't seem to relate to my system, or does it??

also try clicking start/run and typing "sfc" click go

may ask for your windows disc

this should search for and replace any damaged or missing system files

failing that try the above

Have already tried that.

Having the same problem now when I click the Download link from MS site.

Now trying your other link.

Thanks very much.

One of my webmails refused text all of a sudden and then went back to normal. It coincided with the installation and uninstallation of Opera Browser. Due to Java trouble reinstalled Opera and a webmail refused text again. Incomprehnsible!
