Cannot get onto some websites http error 400

I can't get onto some websites that I could before without getting the error page http 400 bad request, this also happens when I go onto ebay and click onto a picture to expand it. I'm using BT Yahoo broadband with BT Hub and have reset all internet options to default. I have a laptop and use that on wireless without any problems and it's much quicker. My next step was to clean the registry but I'm not confident enough to hit the final button. Any advise on where to look would be appreciated.

Did you install any new software before this happened?
You should also make sure you are using the most recent version of your browser, I couldn't access a load of websites, and then upgraded to ie7 and now I have no problems, this is probably due to a registry, but when you install the browser, it would make changes to the registry, and remove the parts that were causing the problems, so it is a sort of registry clean.
If you havn't already, you could try firefox, as this may fix the problem, or at least show it was the other browser causing the problems, not the isp/router etc.
