For gods sake dont ask why?

But a chum who uses Autocad for work wants to add a third Hard drive to his computer and use it soley for autocad stuff, he wants to use win 98se, He wants it totally independant of his main system .

As far as I can see, he wants to dual boot with the same operating system.

1, Can he do it?
2, Does Windows have the software?

3, If not how?

can you Dual boot with same o/s? - Yes

1, Can he do it? - Yes

2, Does Windows have the software? - Not that i know of. (98 at least)

Install 98 to the other drive and when he wants to boot into the "other" 98 have him swap the boot device to the other drive. Do this in the BIOS...

You could use a bootloader to select when the computer starts but i have not used one in this case.

If you use Drive Image and Partitition Magic it is very easy. I multi-boot between six operating systems, 4 versions of 98SE, ME & XPpro.
