how to create a program icon on my desktop after installing software?

find the program on your pc right click on it then click send to desktop this will create a shortcut to it.

Start> all programmes > select programme > right click > select send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

From desktop go to start/all programs. Then drag icon onto desktop from program list.

Just a word of warning. If you follow the suggestion from oldal then this will REMOVE the icon from the Start Menu and place it on the desktop so it will no longer be available from the menu. However, if you drag it with the right mouse button, when you drop it you get an option to Copy or Move and you will obviously then choose Copy.
