Gigabyte GA-7n400 pro2 board? I'm going to put a XP2800-333FSB processor into it. I have 1gb of the pc2100 (266fsb) so would like to save a bit of money by not replacing it. I know the board supports fsb from 200 - 400 but don't know if it will work with a processor running at 333.

Any help much appreciated, it will also keep the wife happier if I don't spend as much!!!!!!

Crucial sell PC2100/PC2700/PC3200 to fit your motherboard, so answer to your question "will it work" is - yes!!!!

Check here click here and it will confirm.

I am pretty sure the memory has to run at least at the same speed as the FSB. otherwise the memory will be overclocking, and could fry on you. I think thats the case anyway. I would not risk it personally. I'd get some PC3200 memory and chuck that in.

Hardly think the Crucial would sell PC2100 for your motherboard if it was not safe to do so.
