Can I Upgrade My Laptop?

  Alexx_B 13:49 30 May 2008

I have a Packard bell SW51-B012 X2 TL50 (I hope that makes sense to you).

It has a nVIDIA GEFORCE GO 6100 graphics card.

Can I upgrade the graphics card in a laptop?

I have been told they are "burned" in, Is this true?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Are invariably integral to the mother board - no upgrades here.
A memory up grade is far as you can go with laptops.

In short NO, you can upgrade Memory most of the time as also Hard Drive. But thats as far as it goes

I had a feeling I couldn't. Thank You for your quick rsponses.

1 more question....if i upgraded the memory would it improve the graphics at all? or is that a different area?

The graphic use part of the total RAM memory a memory up grade will improved the machine performance overall
However whether the grpahic can increase it 'take' is another metter
I would think not
It is design to use 'say'1gig that it will not withstanding any 'extra'
But your handbook should tell you this.
Or the makers website.

Ok thank you.

To upgrade the graphics card I basically need to get a new laptop with a better card :)

Thanks for the info.
