Depending on what you want your printer to do (in terms of features) I'd guess buying a new one may well be the cheaper option. With a decent printer available for £50 or so, it would be less than paying a guy for an hour or two's labour at £30-40/hour plus parts. These days, things just aren't made to be repaired. It looks like your printer was only £60 or so in the first place.
