Probably -

but the difference would be virtually unnoticeable

what are you wanting to overclock for? better games performance, overall sys performance?

i am thinking of purchasing a connect3d ati radeon 9600xt 256mb for around £100 are they any good and are there any known compatability problems or anything?

otherwise i think this is a good card for £100 is this true?

bear in mind that i am going to run a 19ins crt off of it

games performance

then a graphics card is definetely better than a potentially dangerous overclock.

  JonnyTub 18:14 29 Sep 2004

or why not upgrade both? see what your mobo will take.

  Benzo 18:18 29 Sep 2004

i was going to upgrade to an amd 64bit 3200+ and get a new mobo at the same time around christmas time so do you think the gfx card is good?

  JonnyTub 18:20 29 Sep 2004

seems ok, although i'm no big gamer and so wouldn't comment further than that.

My boy has had that card for six months and is very pleased with its performance. He plays all the latest 3D games on and off line.

It is Of course not an 800XT and should be judged accordingly.

It is a middle of the road card that offers an above average level of performance for the money.
