can i get a ghost image with partition magic?

hello all,i have got a new hard drive it is an ibm (hitachi deskstar) 160 gig.it is oem so no software,i need to copy my 40 gig maxtor with about 20 gig used on it.can i use partition magic 8? i know it can copy a hard drive but can it do what i want it to?

I doubt it. I used Acronis to clone my old hard drive to a new one....worked a treat. £30 well spent.

I think your partition magic 8 should do the job for you, but if you check the disk manufactures site you will probably find free software available which will also do the job for you.

You can use the FREE XXCOPY (for Win 98SE) or the FREE XXCLONE (for Win XP) to clone one drive to another which will include all system files, registry, program and data files.

I have used XXCOPY for the last two years to create a full back-up with no problems.
