I recently uninstalled Spywareblaster from my Win XP SP2 computer, because the automatic update function was causing problems with my firewall (and I now run Microsoft Antispyware anyway). However, uninstalling the Spywareblaster package has not uninstalled the automatic update application (called sbautoupdate.exe), which is not listed in the Add/Remove Programs list. Consequently the update function keeps trying to run. I have found the following entry in my Startup list in msconfig: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run. I have unchecked this startup item, but ideally I'd like to get rid of it altogether. Is it possible and safe just to delete it from the startup list? Thanks.
