Can connect to router but not to internet

  hand123 20:39 21 Jun 2010

I have read through all topics concerning this on the internet and tried a number of things but still no luck. We had two laptops connected through wireless to the internet now only one works. Everything which has been suggested i have tried.

It picks the router up no problems but from there no internet. It is only connected locally. This problem has been driving me mad for weeks now. Any advice would be much appreciated.

The only thing i can see wrong is that there is no default gateway set. The ip address and subnet are fine.

on the problem laptop, try deleting your wireless profile and then go through the steps to connect again.

Try switching off both laptop and router then unplug router and leave about 10min then turn on router and allow a few min to settle then switch laptop back on.

Have you initially connected it wired, then try it wireless,it should find your network.
