As far as I can see Windows Movie Maker will only capture in Composite or S Vhs

To get good results you have to capture digitally by means of a Firewire (or I think it is called an I-Link on the panasonic)

Use software such as Ulead Studio Or Pinnacle Studio
I use Pinnacle Studio 9 and get good results

I do use firewire through the Dv Already........is it that through Windows Movie Maker I can't get best results or is it something else???

I used Windows Movie Maker and could not get satisfactory results
using Pinnacle Studio 9 and capturing in DV mode or MPEG the results are almost as good as the original
