Buying a new hard drive

Hi, I want to buy a new drive and have a few questions. I have a 3 year old evesham PC and I think the mobo is a KT733. Am I correct in saying I will need an IDE and not a ATA or SATA drive? Is there much difference between the speeds on a 2mb or 8mb drive? If I buy an OEM model will I need any cables? Thanks in advance.

Download this click here System info program an it will tell you what motherboard you have. The number (KT733) you have given does not throw up much on google.

ATA drive is fitted to IDE cable, if you only have one drive then there probably is a spare slot on the cable for fitting a 'slave drive'
