burning .ram file

Ive been asked to download and burn a .ram file,however this looks like it needs converting to mp3

Ive read various articles on this,and though it seems like it can be done,i would like to do this outside of Real player if possible.

I have the file and have tried Super,but i cannot see where the .ram setting is,the site says yes it will convert this...but how if no setting is visible.

Basically,im looking for a free converter that will do this for me please.

Os is Vista but can be xp if needed.

As usual all advice and ideas are greatly appreciated.

The main info i seem to be picking up,is to convert to wav.

convert RealMedia (.RM .RAM .RMVB .RA) files to any other format.

Yes MCE2K5 i have,but as above i cannot find the the output .ram within the menu.

Hey skidzy, me old rap jap flappy buddy pal matey cockney rhymning doodaa's..

Files with a .RAM extension cannot be burned to CD. A RAM file is a hyperlink that directs you to where the file is stored on the Internet. There is no way of copying a RAM file for playback when you are offline.
What you need to do is open the ram file in notepad or a plain text editor of your choice and copy the URL inside into a download manager or web browser to download the rm file. Then you can import that and burn it.
