Burning Audio CD's and disk capacity

Why is it that Windows Media Player seems to only be able to burn 100Mb audio tracks from a speaking book or so onto a 700Mb disc?
I have checked settings but still can only burn
around the 100Mb mark?

CD-R's work in two ways. 74 or 80 minutes means that only that amount of time can be used. Even if the file is over 1Gig as long as it is only 74 or 80 Mins it will fit. Data burn will fit around 700MB on an 80 min CD. This can be confusing but as long as you remember the above you won't go far wrong.

Windows Media Player only burns audio CDs, so the time limit is the key factor. The 700 MB limit applies to data CDs, such as mp3 or wma. To burn data discs you will need to use an application such as Nero or similar.
