burn photos to cd

I want to make photo albums and burn them to cd, vcd or whatever. I want to make them entertaining with effects. I have used software called 'xoom photos on tv', but I find it temperamental and the transitions are not that good; plenty to choose from, but they are not very smooth. Has anybody used one they can recommend? I really want a proffesional finish!

Have you got Nero? That will do it for you or, as suggested earlier, Picassa2, a superb little photo editing utility from:

click here (it's now Google owned)
