Bug when switching off PC

  Grundy02 12:24 02 Apr 2010

Having clicked on 'Turn Off' to close down my PC, when it is part way through Windows XP 'Shutting Down', I get a screen message which reads:-

The instruction at '0x0012c615' referenced at '0x00000001'. The memory could not be written.

Click OK to terminate the program.
Click CANCEL to debug the program.

It doesn't seem to matter which button I click, the 'Shutting Down' process will then continue and my PC will close down.

Can anyone please tell me what the screen message means and what do I have to do to clear the Bug from my PC?

Type the following commands:

1. attrib -r -h -s boot.ini
2. edit boot.ini
3. Look for /NoExecute Optin or /NoExecute Optout and change that to /NoExecute AlwaysOff
4. Save the edited file
5. type attrib +h +r +s boot.ini
6. restart the computer
