Has anybody actually fitted a BT I-plate & achieved a BB speed increase?

Interesting question, I will also be interested in any comments.

Thanks Gandalf, very interesting, I think I'll invest in one if my ISP doesn't offer one at a reduced price (well I can dream, can't I?)

If the wires are dis-connected does this mean that the phones will not ring? In addition to the one near my Pc there are two extensions, one in the bedroom and one downstairs.

I have today fitted a BT i-Plate, not noticed any difference yet, but as I understand it I should not expect any real difference until after about three days. I will keep you informed of progress, though I am perhaps a little sceptical.

I am with TalkTalk for my phone landline.
Can I fit a BT I-plate to my master socket. If so where can I get one. I do not want to contact BT.

They are not issued by BT, you can get them at click here

Results yesterday morning, immediately after fitting the BT i-Plate - Down 0.7Mbps, Up 0.4Mbps, IP Profile 750Kbps, IP Throughput 691Kbps.

Results this morning - Down 2,624Kbps, Up 448Kbps, IP Profile 2,000Kbps, IP Throughput 1,875Kbps.

My scepticism washed away - a definite improvement for me, and after just one day!
