bt home hub 5

NewHome Hub 5, not connected to the internet yet. I have the hub and a laptop in my works office and just wish to familiarise myself with the interface before the engineer turns up tomorrow to upgrade from copper to fibre to the cabinet. I have the laptop connected to port 1 (tried Port 4 as well) of the hub. I can ping the hub ( & if I ping the hub by name (bthomehub.home) it works, indicating DNS on the hub is working. I cannot connect to the web interface on the hub though - "IE cannot display the page" etc If I connect the Laptop to my normal network it works fine, I flush DNS & reboot between swapping over. Any ideas? Regards, Barry

Maybe it wont connect until the day the engineer instals,only a guess?

Good Guess! It is connected to the broadband now & all is well! The web interface seems to need the broadband to operate, not the best situation. Cheers, Barry
