My friend has BT Broadband with the standard BT router (1 port, 1 usb port) but is wanting to connect an additional 2 PC's to the broadband connection.

Am i correct in assuming he'll need a replacement router, possibly a 4 porter, and, if so, can anyone suggest one that is easy to configure...

Also, will it be straight through CAT 5 from each PC network card to the router ports..?

thanks in advance...

Yes your friend will need a new Modem/Router like this one click here&

If he/she wants to hard wire the PCs then yes a straight through cable is required but why not go wireless?

No need to buy a new router/modem.

You should be able to connect a 4 port hub to the existing router/modem, and share the connection that way.

This also may get more answers in the Network forum.
