BT Broadband / Belkin router

hello to all that read this.
i recently moved house and as a result have now have bt broadband. with the package comes a shiney new homehub 2.0, which turns out to be more use as a paper wieght than a router (and not a very good one at that) so at the weekend i dug out the trusty old belkin f5d7632-4 ver 30011, which was working perfectly with the tiscali broadband in previous property. i have tried every permation of username/password that i have found after many hours of searching these and other forums the vpi/vci are correct along with the ppoa hte only setting that i have not found any mention of is mtu (what ever that maybe!!) so have left it on the previous setting of 1450.
PLEASE HELP before something violent happens to this innocent router

you should enter '[email protected]' (no quotes) in the username, and leave the password section blank. If this doesn't work, put 'password' in the password box. BT identifies the broadband user from the telephone number of the line you're connected to.
