Brother HL-2040 Drum Light

I recently bought the above printer at an office auction with the knowledge that the drum was worn out. I then went out and bought a £80 (!) genuine brother replacement drum and installed it according to the instructions. But - Instead of the Drum warning going out like I thought it would it now flashes - before it was static. The printer prints fine and the light doesn't bother me at all - I am just wondering how to get rid of it!! Any Ideas??

Hi, perhaps it is meant to flash, then only go to 'solid' if a problem occurs. Only guessing -do you not have Instructions with the printer?

Thanks for the reply mate, No, I didn't get instructions with the printer unfortunatley, All i got was literally the printer, I had to use a USB and Power cable I had to hand at home.

Thanks Again for the reply,
