Broke my DVD drive

I ahd a disaster, caught the CD drawer with my sleeve and broke the mechanism that keeps it straight to go in ad out on eject. It still works, but you have to slide it in carefully.

I know most laptop parts come in 'modules' so am wondering if anybody knows, is it a real nightmare to remove and replace? I have an Acer Travelmate. It is out of warranty so going inside won't invalidate it.

(I have built several desktops from scratch, but never ventured inside a laptop)

Does not look too much of a nightmare ...

Or find you model among this lot, then download the repair manual...
