broadband sharing

When you share a braodband connection does the main computer have to always be switched on?..Thanks

Assuming that you mean sharing where the 2 PCs are connected by a crossover cable, the answer is yes

Not unless you are just connecting to the BB modem via the main computer..
If like most you use a router or modem/router, then the problem doesn't arise, as they connect via the router independently.
