broadband outbound e-mail not working

when moved to bt broadband, unable to send e-mails but still can recieve them.Old dial up used as provider.can any one help ?

check your pop and smtp settings are you can recieve ok then your pop setting is correct.just check the smtp setting.

in outlook express its tools/accounts/mail/properties/servers

set up as your isp advises.

A: BT Broadband provides direct access to the Internet through an ADSL modem without needing an Internet Service Provider (ISP). ISPs often include additional services such as email and webspace. If you cancel your contract with your ISP, the ability to send or receive email may be suspended, or you may be able to receive email via your old email address but not be able to send it. Some ISPs do provide email services that can be accessed from BT Broadband. We recommend that you contact your ISP for information on whether their email will work or not.

When you connect to the net either with a dial-up or broadband you can download email from as many different accounts as you please! But when it comes to sending, for security reasons you can only send from an address that is registered with that ISP that you connected to!
Example: If you are connected with Btopenworld via broadband, you can only send email from [email protected] btopenworld.
If you want to send from a Tiscali address then you must reconnect through a dialup account with tiscali so that you can then send from [email protected]
