a telewest engineer came to fit broadband but could not complete installation as,he says "my computer has no network settings in dos prompt command ipconfig/all . this means absolutely nothung to me! my pc is a medion titanium and has an on board 10/100 MBit network controller so i thought it would not be a problem, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try to replicate what the Telewest engineer did.

Is this Windows XP?

If so Start, Run, Type in

cmd

and click OK.

In the DOS window type in

IPCONFIG /ALL

and press Enter.

What does it come up with?

hi VoG, it says "ipconfig is not recognizes as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file" does this make any sense?

1) The file isn't there anymore so you can't download it.

2) Before typing IPCONFIG in try going to c:\windows\system32 folder first.

at the c:\ prompt type

CD C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 and hit enter

now type IPCONFIG and hit enter.

Obviously replace WINDOWS with the name of your Windows folder (might be WINNT)
