Broadband and Email

Hi again

I've just installed XP and gone over to broadband (pipex). My problem is that whilst I can receive emails I cannot send them. Do I need to set up a dial up connection to my old ISP - BT, to enable me to send mail? Any suggestions please.

You should be able to send from your pipex e-mail account.

I don't think you will be able to send e-mails from your BT account via pipex.

I know you probably already have but it is worth double checking your email account details to see that they are set up correctly.

if you use Outlook you can receive and send mail using POP3:

Try the pipex support site for setup instuctions etc at :-

This includes BT's Talk21 mail
This works for me on Pipex:
Set up the service in mail tools to:

General :- same as before for talk21

Servers :-
Incoming pop3 to ''
outgoing smpt to ''
account name to 'your account name'
(talk21 a/c name)
password to 'your password'
(talk21 password)

Connection to 'Your Connection name'

Thanks for all your help - I'm now sorted.
