I thought that I would enter this in the hope that it may help others. I have had BT Broadband since January of this year. it has been excellent apart from intermittant dropouts. BT have been excellent trying to resolve it, as have my PC Supplier. BT have replaced my cable from the pole right into the house, and then to my PC. also replacing the modem. After three visits by their engineers (all free of charge I might add), the last one disconnected each of my four telephones from their junction boxes throughout the house, one at a time, and found that the problem was caused by one length of cable (that has been installed for thirty five years) far removed from my modem. It was cheaper to buy a portable phone rather than replace the cable, and I now have an excellent BT Broadband connection.
