Boot from a USB

  about:blank 12:04 28 Feb 2005

Ive been playing around with the idea of booting from a usb device. As i recently purchased a IBM thinkpad it gives me the option to boot from a USB.
After some googlewhacking, and BIOS setup learning, i know have a bootable USB device.
It runs on linux, (which is the only OS which supports it to my knowlage)
I now can carry a whole OS on my 1gb USB, and i still have space to carry the contents of my documents folder in it.

heres a site which explains it fulls (better then any attempt that i would have at it)

It has its uses; particularly for getting into machines which will not boot into windows. The use of the USB drive also makes it easier to retrieve data.

Thanks for the info.
