Boot up problems

Hi,My computer is running xp pro,when i started it up yesterday it got so far into the boot up and then came up with " lsass.exe-system error,insufficient system resources exist to complete the API." i have done a search and found that it could be the sasser worm,although i am using the zonelabs firewall and an antivirus package.I downloaded a sasser fix,but the computer will not boot to safe mode so i can use it.Any help would be very much appreciated as i am in the middle of compiling a yearbook for a club i am in,i do have some details saved onto a second hard drive but the email addresses i need are on the main drive.Thanks in advance
