boot problem

  Ozy 15:18 13 Sep 2009

I had Vista dual booted with XP, I removed XP and installed PC linux,
Uninstalled linux and installed Windows7.
I have removed Windows 7, and am trying to install XP.
XP freezes at the second “press any key” when it should go straight past.
I suspect it may have something to do with the boot menu,
At the bootup choices I get,
Earlier windows system
Microsoft windows vista,
Neosmart linux.
I did also have windows7 I deleted it in msconfig/boot
There were only these two entries in msconfig/ boot
I have tried search, but it does not find, boot.ini
How do I get rid of the two unused entries 15:29 13 Sep 2009

I would suggest you backup data in Vista and repartition and format the whole HDD and start the Vista and Xp installation again.

Hope this helps!
