Boosting WiFi

I have an Orange Livebox but the signal to the bedrooms upstairs is Low or Very Low.
Other than moving furniture around etc, is there anyway the signal can be boosted or improved?

The straight line betwen the Livebox and unit in the bedroom, is by far the most important aspect ... can you move the live to cut down the thickness/angle the signal goes through the wall and number of walls, metal object etc.

What is the unit in the bedroom ... desktop/laptop/xp/vista .... ?

changing wireless channels and removing IPv6 in vista can also help

It is a laptop that I am trying to connect, on XP.

Think it might come down to moving the Livebox

Tritium FlatennaTM WiFi WLAN Antenna

Has anybody had any experiences of the this?

If you can move the antenna to a horizontal position, it will be better for accessing upstairs than vertical.
That is because radio travels at right angles to the antenna.
it may help

So if I lie my Livebox on one side, this may work better?

Any thoughts on the above, please?

I have mine on its side (can't remember why I did that) and can get good signal all round house and in garden.

I'm interested - did you ever try the Flatenna. Kernow999? If not, what other solution did you find?
