Bluetooth Pin issue

  Alf58 11:28 25 Dec 2006

Just got a USB Bluetoth dongle so daughter can transfer files onto PC from her mobile. All set up fine but then comes to a screen asking for a Pin number and providing a box to type it in but no flashing curser!!! Thus I cant provide a pin and if I Ok it without giving a pin when it connects to the mobile phone, the phone also asks for a pin!!! Dont know what to do!

System is WIN XP SP2. Bluetooth Dongle is "Advent Class 2 V2.0 Bluetooth Adaptor with EDR".
MObile phone is Samsung SGH 530. Any ideas?

Yes but it wont let me type anything in to the pin box! There is no flashing cursor. If I leave it blank and ok it, when it tries to connect to the phone the phone says "pin too short". There doesnt appear to be any contact details for Advent technical support either.

try uninstall and reinstalling software, or download latest software from Samsung web site. I've got the SGH E900 and haven't had any problems.

Have you "Paired" the devices, (Dongle with PC & then with Mobile) this is where you can configure your pin.

has the software installed my bluetooth places on desktop. If so look in help as there may be something there.

James how does one go about "pairing" in the manner you describe?
