Blue Screens ?????

Does anyone know the cause the BLUE SCREEN

A friend of my keep getting them. At random sometimes 30mins sometimes a couple of hours.

My sons had these in the past and formatting fixed the problem. Can these be fixed without formatting?.

Its all moderen stuff XP pro intel chipsets?

Any ideas

The error on the screen can usually point the user in the right direction as to what is causing the Blue Screen.

If you post the error code, I'm sure somebody here can decipher it and assist further. Normally it would look something like the following: 0x000000EX, (0x0se43500, etc, etc)

Can they be caused by a virus?

It sometimes caused by faulty Hardware or Divice Driver or Bad Software.

There needs to be a lot more detail:

Does it always blue screen when doing the same type of job? Is there a way to stop it blue screening?

What is the error code and type shown on the blue screen?

Is the system overclocked?
