Blank Screen

Have Asus laptop with Vista. When booting up Logo appears and then screen goes blank for a few seconds

And after it goes blank for a few seconds... what then? Does it boot into Vista? Or does it stay blank?

You left us in the dark here so what what happens after the screen goes blank???

  jim63 17:25 09 Oct 2008

Sorry, it then goes into Vista and everything works okay

So what's the problem?

"it then goes into Vista and everything works okay"

That's normal behaviour - as long as it is only a few seconds.

Just checked screen again. Bootup, screen blank few seconds then logo and then screen goes blank for at least 1 minute and then desktop

If it goes blank for "at least a minute" then something or lots of somethings are slow in loading. When it has fully booted up type msconfig into either the Search box or the Run box (if you have it displayed) and hit Enter. Look at the Startup Tab and see what you have loading on Startup. You can usually clear most things, I only have about 4 things ticked including Windows Defender, Avast and Utilities for my Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard. When you have unticked all the non-essential boxes Reboot and see if your black screen time is shortened.
