Blank email problem

  Willow12 10:33 22 Aug 2006

I have received a few emails from my friend on outlook express which are entirely blank. The subject shows but there is no text visable either in preview or when fully opened. there is no question or a virus as it is from a trusted source.

The only way that I can view it is by right-clicking it properties/details/message source. Doing this lets me read what was sent but what could be causing the email to show up blank when viewed normally? I use XP.

Just because your email comes from a "trusted source" doesn't necessarily mean it is safe to open. Your sender may have some infection that he doesn't know about.

It may be that your ISP is filtering out possible problem emails - that is ones with a hidden virus or such to protect its own customers.

Quite often my spam trap has emails in it that have no message or no sender. These are ones that have been cleaned up for me.

It might be an idea to contact your sender and ask him to run a malware scan on his own machine.
