My black and white prints have a magenta colour cast. I am using a Canon Pixma iP2600. Any ideas on how to cure this please?
Chances are that the printer is also using the colour cartridge to create Black. Either remove or disable the colour cartridge when printing B&W prints.
If the printer used a separate black cartridge it may be empty, some printers will use the colours to make black if the black ink runs out. Try what MAJ said and it should print in black or not at all.
Go to start settings\Printer Folder right click your printer\Properties set it to Grayscale printing
Either do the above or when you click print, just for one off, click Properties\grayscale printing
Grayscale can still use the colour cartridges
Well most printers that have try colour and Black only work with all carts in place
