I have accessed my BIOS but all it shows is CMOS and this is on Autodetect why aint i got A bios I am using windows xp profesional and ntfs s my file system any sugestions folks

What pc/laptop/motherboard make and model do you have.
Your question is like your bios,missing vital info :-)

This is usually the first screen u see in the bios for detecting HDD/cd drives there should be others.

The terms CMOS and BIOS are usually treated as interchangeable, although technically CMOS is the name of the chip the BIOS is stored on and the BIOS is the data.

How much detail you get depends on the motherboard manufacturer.

And the definition of the word "BIOS" is Basic Input/Output System.
