Best size graphics card for Windows 7?

  Paddylad 20:33 01 May 2010

I've currently got a NVIDIA G Force FX 5200, 128 MB card. Should I be looking for a larger card to run W 7. Having read a lot on this forum, it appears that I would need something bigger to run Aero. I've 2.27GH CPU, 2 GB RAM, and 500GB HDD. I don't do games, and am well into photography and writing. Your advice will not fall on deaf ears and will be greatly appreciated.

It's a low profile card, but from what you've said you've pointed me in the right direction. Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Paddylad: I see no reason why you need to change you graphics card. I use the same one as you with now problems. Win7 Home Premium. It run Aero without problems.

PCI-E or AGP? NVIDIA G Force FX 5200 looks to me to be a AGP card. GeForce FX 5200 is a PCI-E card. If it's an AGP card then an upgrade would be worth it in my humble oppinion.

It's a low profile AGP card.

If it needs to be low profile then not much choice by the look of it; click here
