I have the excellent ASROCK 939 DUAL SAT2 motherboard and have 1 SATA(150) drive and 2 EIDE drives, the SATA drive does not have settings for slave etc of course, but how should I plug in to the motherboard the two eide drives, and should these two eide drives be set to slave?.

Where is your OP system SATA , IDE HDD1 OR 2?

Sata to sata 1 plug on motherboard,

1 HDD to master and other to slave if on same IDE cable/channel

IF op sys on IDE HDD that that must be master HDD

If OP sys on sata then must be plugged into SATA1 port.

BIOS boot order:

If OP sytem on SATA the boot order is SATA (SCSI), HDD , HDD, CD

IF OP system on IDE then boot order is IDE (HDD)0 , HDD , SCSI (SATA)

Many thanks Fruit Bat,

I wasn`t informative enough,...

The op system is on the SATA1 hard drive, NON RAID,...plugged in to SATA1 on board,..

The Bios is set as 1. Boot floppy, 2. DVD/cd, 3. HDD.

One IDE hard drive is plugged in to blue `Primary` socket, second IDE drive and DVD pluged in to `Secondary` socket, all IDE drives are set to slave I think, as they came from my old pc and neither IDE drive had the operating system on.
