Best method for burning AVI to DVD Disc?

Hi, i have to burn some AVI videos to DVD and im finding DVDtoX converter isnt doing a fast job, it does the trick but takes far too long.

Are there any recommendations?
Also... i have DVD+R and DVD-R, which is best to play on a DVD Player?

-R is the most common dvd flick is free will convert author and burn it uses imgburn which it installs as well .As for time theycan all take a long time depends .the actual burning takes very litle time its the vconverting etc that takes the time

Thanks for the reply. Does an AVI need to be converted for playback on DVD players, or can i just burn the AVI straight onto DVD-R?

It needs to be converted unless you have a dvd player that played AVI files but I dought that.

and burn avi as data, which is reasonable quick. Not sure if this helps.

Yes as said it needs converting Flick will doitall start to finish
