Best laptop for around £350

  beny0408 21:50 10 Jan 2009

Hi, I'm a complete beginner to PC's, having a 5 year old dell that has pretty much given up the ghost so I felt it was time to upgrade to a decent laptop The Acer aspire 5920 laptop caught my eye because I can get it with a case off amazon for £385. Gaming isn't a priority but being able to at least run football manager at a decent level would be grand. I was just wondering if i could do any better than the acer for said price range?

Many thanks :)

Try Argos who have them for as little as £320.
But you are buying at the cheaper end of the market.
£400 would get you a better one!

Thanks for the advice on Argos :) however if I say i can get a better one for £400 then I'm worried it can escalate and I'll end up blowing a grand or something... would it really be worth the extra £50? I'd definitely like this laptop to see me through a good 3 years.

I have an Acer Travel Mate 5720G a bit heavy to cart around but tough as old boots I bought mine in Austria but the comparable one should be available for the price you want to pay. The only thing with mine is it does not have a web cam but I fitted a USB clip on one.
