I have Googled this and most of the links are well out of date.

Any suggestions?

Agree that Diskeeper works very well in Vista and XP. V. efficient.

I apologise first for coming in on this discussion, but I have tried to defrag on my comp with Vista and nothing happens, Axelbrora- did you ask about defrag programs because it isn't in Vista ? in which case your answers will help me too. Thank you.

IMHO Diskeeper (see my click-here above) out-shines all the rest!

I have happily used Diskeeper for a couple of years on various computers - including my Vista desktop and Vista laptop.

It works quietly in the background constantly keeping your discs defragged without slowing down your computer or making itself known.

A great programme and highly recommended.
