Belkin 2 port kvm switch problem

  Diodorus Siculus 09:54 19 Nov 2005

Hi, I've got the aobve switch with built-in cabling (F1DK102P) connecting two PCs (a gigabyte 7dx mother board and a foxconn mobo) to a single MS keyboard and mouse.

In theory it should work by pressing the scroll lock key twice and then the up/down arrow.

Anyway, when I boot both machines it will only go from the foxconn to the gigabyte but not back again - ie it works only one way. The only way to get it back is to shut off the gigabyte machine.

Any thoughts on this one? Google is not very forthcoming :-(

Thanks as always, Dio

Yes send it back to Belkin.
I had one of those and had exactly the same trouble.
I sent it back for a replacement and that has worked perfectly ever since.

Thanks alan227. I'll contact them and see what's the story with it.

Called Belkin; went through a few things and they said that the switch is not suitable for my monitor. Told me to take it back to where I bought it so a trip to PCW one day.

They told me which one would work, but it's more expensive. Not sure what to do for now but will report back.

Took it back to PCW and explained the situation and got a refund.

About to start a new thread asking for suggestions for a new one...
