A friend recently started having this problem. windows xp. After about 3-5 minutes online get message:
"generic host process for W32 has encountered a problem and needs to close".
We thought it was Norton Anti-Virus which she bought and only installed after having it in the box for a year but now uninstalled but still happening.
A previous message prior to it shutting itself down mentioned "a hardware device"
Now also receiving e-mails at a rate of about 20 a minute. Got well over 1000 and counting.
