My friend has an tiny comp, don't know what model, it's about 3 years old and every ten mins or so and she heared two beeps one after the other only for the past few days. Any ideas?

Possibly a fan speed or temperature warning.

Wot can she do about it?

more detail of her OS, programs installed etc might help the forum to advise more appropriately please ::))

and does it occur during any specific programs while they are running?

She has windows xp home sp1, lots of games installed as she has two young kids, the last time she heared it was when she was working on word, other than that she can't really remember what programs where open when the beeps occured.

When the beeps are occurring, restart the system, go into the BIOS and have a look at the fan speeds and temperatures. See how close they are to their limits - if they're very close, then they may be giving occasional warnings.
