BBC Radio recording on PC

I would like to record BBC radio programmes on my PC in MP3 format to later put on my MP3 player. Could anyone please advise of a free software programme that will do this. Thanks

Audacity will do that.

For about £50 you might want to consider Soundforge. I still use version 4.0 [1999] on an old XP computer to record from the radio directly onto laptop's hard drive. The newer version will work on latest Windows 7, 8 ,10.

Hi you guys, many thanks for your suggestions. I have been trying other programmes for a few weeks without any luck. However Audacity works very well but although I have SoundForge I couldn't manage to record with it.
